I’ve been doing very little with Maggie, just grooming and loving her up, been on a couple of walks. Well, to make a long story short, I don’t know if you went out to our pasture, but there’s a ridge line where they feed and then there is a valley where I find Maggie a lot. She makes me work to get her.

Today I walked out there and saw her down in the valley, called her name and she lifted her head, acknowledged me, and put her head down to eat again. I kept walking towards her but I was still a good distance away. I called to her again and she lifted her head and was looking at me. I slapped my thigh a couple of times and said, “Come on, Maggs!” She just stood there looking at me, I took a couple more steps toward her again and did the same thing...

Next thing I knew, she was cantering up the hill right towards me and stopped right in front of me with her nose on my chest. It brought tears to my eyes. She’s never done that before and I just want to thank you for validating my feelings and helping me to trust myself and my horse.

What a great feeling it was to see her running towards me like that. Sorry this is so long winded, but I wanted you to know the progress we have already made, and I wanted to give credit where credit was due.
