The Shaving Saver was born of inspiration after years of sweeping, raking, re-sweeping, re-raking...and listening to horses bang their feet on wooden 2x6 boards that failed to contain our shavings anyway! 

One day, I was picking up shavings, literally one-by-one by hand in the barn aisle, wondering why we don't just install wooden boards. The owner of this barn wouldn't tolerate the look of chewed up 2x6 boards in her barn, and she would rather clean shavings up over and over again than have an ugly look. So I asked myself, what can we do about that?

No! After testing with young horses, older horses, stallions and everyone in-between, all of the horses accepted The Shaving Saver in their stall within just a few minutes.

Do horses chew on The Shaving Saver?

No! Part of the elegance of this design is that it is not a solid object. Most horses, when they chew, will look for a solid surface to chew on. The bristles of The Shaving Saver simply don't offer a satisfying chewing experience, so the horses generally ignore it.

Does it come in other colors?

Yes! The Shaving Saver can be ordered in different colors with a large enough order - you can match your barn colors!

Will The Shaving Saver break if a horse steps on it?

No! The Shaving Saver is made of a very durable poly-propylene, the same material that is used in industrial brushes like the huge street-cleaner vehicles. Because the base of The Shaving Saver has such a low profile, a kick from a horse or being stepped on will not cause it to break.

How long do the bristles last?

This will depend on the horse. The bristles are made of a durable plastic that is impervious to the weather and any horse waste. It is possible for the bristles to become bent, but in the course of normal use, The Shaving Saver is designed to serve your needs for 1-2 years.

Can I roll a cart over The Shaving Saver?

Yes! The low base is designed so you can bring carts in and out of the stall.
